Prof. Dr. Ersel AYDINLI is Professor at Bilkent University International Relations Department, and is the General Director of the Fulbright Commission of Turkey. He received his MSc degree from George Washington University, his PhD degree from McGill University (Canada) and Post-Doctorate from the Kennedy School of Political Science at Harvard University. He has given lectures at McGill University, Middle East Technical University and George Washington University. His practice areas include International Relations Theory, Globalization and Security, Terrorism and Turkey's Domestic and Foreign Policies. His articles have been published in journals such as Foreign Affairs, Journal of Peace Research, Governance, Security Dialogue, Middle East Journal, International Studies Review, and Review of International Studies. He is the author of the Emerging Transnational (In)security Governance: A Statist Transnationalist Approach (Routledge, 2010) and co-author of Paradigms in Transition: Globalization, Security, and the Nation State (SUNY Press, 2005) with James N. Rosenau. His last book, Violent Non-State Actors, was published by Routledge in 2016. Professor Dr. Ersel AYDINLI, prior to joining the academic world, worked as a Counter-Terrorism Officer in Istanbul.
